The objectives of crime scene vehicle are to ensure a safe efficient detection, collection, preservation and transportation of all kinds of physical evidence at any crime scene to support effective investigation and prosecution of a criminal act based on physical evidence rather than on statements. Found and preserved evidence must be submitted to the investigator for onward submission to Forensic Science Laboratory.

The crime scene vehicle is operated by trained officers on the use of all equipment and safe handling of all chemicals. Officers assigned to the vehicles must be in possession of a training certificate from the Forensic Science Lab Peshawar.

Services of Crime Scene Mobile Unit

The crime scene vehicle is tasked to attend crime scene of serious nature upon the request of the investigation officer or, in case of sensitive and fast decomposing evidence on request of the first responding officer. The term ‘serious nature’ includes crime like:
